For the longest time, crows have been my averred favorite bird, largely due to the influence of Carlos Castaneda in my teen years.
But I think now I've got to go with any form of mockingbird. Today, it's all about the northern mockingbird outside my window here:
The good fortune to have a mature crepe myrtle outside my living window, with its slender muscular trunks, the promise of flora to come, and the added bonus of a long, complicated melody by mockingbirds is great.
It reminds me of another mockingbird on the other side of the world, also outside my window, in Rustavi, Georgia here, in this case, accompanied by a dog:
