New Mexico Blogs

Craftsman making carreta, Camino Real IHC, near Socorro, NM

"Place" blogs give me a flavor of a location.

Here are some blogs focused on New Mexico:

Wandering and Wondering in New Mexico by Valdiz Garoza. Based in Belen, New Mexico.

The Nickel and Dime Ranch by Bridget. She and her husband are in the middle of nowhere in northern NM. They recently took up beekeeping, which one of my brothers also enjoys.

Nine Lives - Kate in Taos by Kate Cartwright.

Tasting NM Blog by Cheryl Jamison, via New Mexico Magazine

I Love New Mexico Blog by Bunny Terry. "About all things New Mexican."

Surprisingly, there's not much out there in the blogosphere. Unless it focuses on

  • Politics
  • Selling something
  • News reports

I'm not too interested in those.

Maybe I'll be able to add more over time.

In the meantime, I'll try to approach NM experiences from a different angle:

When I was going through the Teach for America application process (and NM was my first choice for placement), I followed this teacher's blog, based in Gallup:  EMinNM.
