Leasburg Dam State Park, New Mexico: Blooming

Do you see the hummingbird? Leasburg Dam State Park, New Mexico

Leasburg Dam State Park and Pancho Villa State Park are somewhat similar in that both are very close to town. Indeed, Pancho Villa is in Columbus, New Mexico. Leasburg Dam, I'd say, is adjacent to Radium Springs. From within Leasburg Dam State Park, you can see people's houses.

Leasburg Dam State Park is also close to Las Cruces, just north of same on Interstate 25.

But where Pancho Villa has a parking-lot vibe, Leasburg Dam State Park seems peaceful, relaxing, and well-loved.

I say well-loved because somebody or somebodies created trails throughout the park by painstakingly laying rocks along both sides of the paths.

There's a sweet little memorial garden within the park where I ate my packed lunch. There's a botanical garden over by the restrooms, across from the visitor center.

There's a playground that looks pretty new.

There was a lot of blooming happening on this fine May weekend when I visited.

There's also a visitor center, beautifully designed. (Unfortunately, it was closed during my visit, so I don't know what's inside.)
