I was in the Alamogordo Library last week and saw on a bulletin board a display of dozens of books that have been banned in our American past.
Banned Books Week is September 26-October 6 this year.
This event is of particular interest to me because in Alamogordo in 2001, there was a book burning. Harry Potter books, to be specific.
In a clever twist, the Alamogordo Friends of the Library sold photos of said book burning to benefit the library.
Today, on October 4th, there's a banned books "read-out" on the New Mexico Statue University-Alamogordo campus.
