I'm back on the road.
En route to Las Cruces, New Mexico.
Taking the old familiar road from Jefferson City, Missouri - Highway 54, for the kick of taking it almost all the way to Las Cruces. It pleases me.
But I might diverge and take 60, which I've also done in the past. Also a pleasing route.
First night, I only moved my map point about 50 miles, by design, from Jefferson City to Osage Beach.
The Red Roof Inn room I'm in is fine. The motel chain has upped its game since my experience of it in Alabama.
In-room coffee, fridge, and microwave now seem standard.
I have a bag of free library cast-offs that I'll dig into. The current read is Hush, by Eishes Chagal.
Maybe I'll read a book a day in lieu of screen time.
