Flashback: El Paso: Back in the Kingdom of Ants


It's a mystery to me why I have lavished so many words and so much space on the subject of insects.

As I introduce this flashback from 2016, writing from my current tourist-in-residence digs in Tucson, I'd like everyone to know that my apartment here has a population of roaches that shrugs off all attempts to get it the fuck out of my space. Of course, that's my perspective. Maybe they think it's their space.

El Paso: Back in the Kingdom of Ants

I went to El Paso's downtown Farmers' Market for the first time the other day.

Saw a thing or two.

The experience with the most lasting impression was an encounter with two insignificant, pissanty ants. The little fuckers.  They bit me. Vicious creatures.
