Really, Really, Really Slow Travel

Sadly, John "Jack" Oliver died this morning.   

He proved the theory of continental drift.















Back in the day, it was believed by some (the ISCDS) that the USSR had set continental drift in motion as a ploy to take over the world. More specifically, to get its nuclear missile bases closer to the U.S. I used to belong to the International Stop Continental Drift Society (ISCDS). There was a newsletter and everything, even a bumper sticker: Eschew Continental Drift.

Although the above theories are seductive, I now believe continental drift is just one facet of slow travel.
